Asics Gel-DS Trainer 15
The Asics Gel-DS Trainer 15 is light stability shoe that is great for race day. In fact, I read a statistic that over 70% of athletes at the 2009 Ironman World Championship event in Hawaii were in the Gel-DS Trainer. The shoe is light enough to be a good race shoe and thicker-soled than a racing flat, making it good for newbies doing a longer distance race. The DS Trainer has a thin upper that gets plenty of ventilation.
Traditionally, this is a shoe that Asics tends to “mess with,” so this version probably feels different form the 14. The asymmetric lacing is goofy. I have put probably 100 people in this shoe and it is hit or miss. Some people loved it and other hated it. In my opinion, it is comfortable.
